Parker Duofold Streamline 1935 Jade pen + pencil set, original box, ring tops

  
Stunning Parker Duofold Streamline Jade pen and pencil set in original case, date mark on pen for 3rd quarter 1935. Appears to be restored (not by me).

This is in excellent, glossy and clean condition and has no gouges, cracks or damage. The jade of the barrel is somewhat discoloured to a darker green as is common with this model, usually due to contact with the rubber bladder or ink. The cap colour is original and strong and carries 2 cap bands. Metalwork is clean and bright, no brassing, ring top perfect.

Nib is immaculate - appears to be fine with a clean and tidy Christmas tree feeder - was a delight in dip-testing. Nib is marked: "PARKER PEN" "MADE IN CANADA" "14.5KT" REG T. Pen barrel is stamped: GEO.

PARKER PARKER DUOFOLD MADE IN CANADA with the age code "35" = 3rd quarter 1935. Disassembled, the ink bladder is flexible, filler bar working and flexible and the push button is working. Everything seems to be in place for this pen to work as is, I have not tampered with it. Length (capped) 11.4cm (not including ring-top).

This is in excellent, glossy and clean condition and has no gouges, cracks or splits - there is one small dot of damage (see photo) - could have been a manufacturing defect as it is like a perfect bubble hole. The jade is in excellent bright green condition throughout, colour is original and strong. PARKER PARKER DUOFOLD MADE IN CANADA, no age code (pencils of this generation were not given them). Metalwork is clean and bright, no brassing, ring-top perfect. Lead cone is bright and unblemished.

Twist lead propel / repel is working perfectly. The cap pulls off to reveal the marvellous replaceable lead and eraser canister - packed with original leads and with the original hardened eraser in place. This was a genius consumable which also served to keep the pencil twist mechanism supported internally. Length 11.8cm (not including ring-top).

In excellent condition inside and out. Pen and pencil sit on a fitted velvet base which is entire and clean and sized to each item. Some lead dust marks to box edges, one ink dot to the silk in the lid. Box silk is printed "Parker" and "MADE IN CANADA", and the silk is in good condition with some lead dust to edges and some fraying where pen tips have made contact. The internal edge of box is stamped in gold "MADE IN ENGLAND".

Exterior of box is jade green leather, carries some age-related wear to edges and base and the colour is a little faded to the top and sides, greener to the base (see photos). Hinge and clip-lock working perfectly. Manufactured during the Great Depression - Parker was ending its Duofold production in the US, but Canada and England continued.
